Sour Diesel is one of the most widely smoke sativa strains of all time. If you haven’t heard of this strain, you probably live in a cave in Afghanistan, or someone you know had already tried it (and probably loves it). The specific lineage of Sour Diesel is tricky and very poorly documented, as most of the older strains seem to be.

Some believe the Sour Diesel strain simply comes from a phenotype of Chemdawg that was slightly different and more on the sativa side of the equation. The most popular lineage theory is that the origional Diesel is the result of a cross between (Chemdawg x Super Skunk x Northern Lights). As far as I know, Sour Diesel can only be found in clone form, and it is often quite hard to find. Due to this scarcity of the true Sour Diesel, there are many hybrids that have tried to emulate the true Sour Diesel high. Some come close, but there is nothing like the real thing.
